This page is for the person, not the organization. If you're a communications director, a consultant, or a one-person shop who wants to run the StoryFoundry Throughline on your own work, this is how you learn it. Same method we use in The Position, our four-week brand intensive, at the depth one person can carry.
The Throughline is five elements, one sentence each: Origin, Tension, Mission, Proof, Invitation. Write them for an organization and you have its story in about seventy-five words. It sounds simple. Writing five sentences that are actually true, actually specific, and actually in the right order is the hardest easy thing in this line of work, which is why there's a method for it.
The methodology doesn't change between these tiers and The Position. What changes is the depth, the size of the group, and how much of an organization the Throughline ends up holding. See how organizations use it →
On your own time. Self-paced.
The whole methodology, laid out to work through alone. Eight modules, three sprints, twelve exercises, and a capstone Throughline for an organization you work with. You earn the StoryFoundry Narrative Practitioner credential on completion, and keep lifetime access. The lowest-commitment way to own the method.
Start the Trailhead →Live, with feedback. One session plus a clinic two weeks later.
Walk through the Throughline with other practitioners. In one three-hour session you write all five elements, pick your Lead Line, and draft your first boilerplate live with AI on the call. You leave with your full Throughline, draft one, and a Lead Line to test in the field. Two weeks later, a 60-minute clinic sharpens what came back. Live by video, capped at 25 people per cohort so there's space for your work to actually get looked at.
Want the live cohort and the self-paced reference? Pair the Workshop and Trailhead for $499, which saves you $125 over buying them separately.
See the next cohort →After the Workshop, the work continues in The Forge, an ongoing practice for people carrying the Throughline into their own engagements. By invitation. Ask about it →
Communications directors inside rural health organizations and associations, who have the context but not the frame. Independent consultants who want a method they can charge for rather than a vibe they have to defend. Development leads who keep writing the same case for support and watching it land differently every time.
If you're evaluating this on behalf of an organization that needs the whole brand rebuilt, The Position is the engagement you're looking for. See how it works →
One session, plus a 60-minute clinic two weeks later. You walk out of the session with your Throughline, draft one, written for an organization you actually work with. What you do with it from there is yours.
